Rollercoaster
People say “it’s just a rollercoaster”,
but many fear the plunge.
Some embrace the rush and wonder,
others struggle when they’re spun.
Just like a rollercoaster,
the climbs and falls lead us to the end.
It lifts you so high you forget there’s ground,
but gravity whispers “there’s another bend”.
Just like a rollercoaster,
the thrill of the high feels divine.
Yet, with every ascent there is a fall,
no matter how tightly you cling the line.
Just like a rollercoaster,
you wait all this time for your turn.
Yet, when you’re finally next for front row,
something makes your stomach churn.

Life shows us things,
kind of like a rollercoaster does.
It’s literally all in front of you
but you ignore it, just because?
The reality is,
it’s just how people cope.
It’s a lot easier to get out of line,
when you know you’re losing hope.
